"Little Pillows" donut like dessert. Sprinkle with butter and powdered sugar and eat them while they're hot! 14 oz. box.

Ingredients:

1 package of Koopmans Poffertjes Mix
800mL (3 cups) milk or water (try rootbeer!!)
2 eggs
3 tbsp (45mL) cooking oil
1 tbsp (15ml) syrup, brown sugar or sugar.
Butter and Icing sugar as needed

 

Note: You need a special Poffertjes Pan to make these poffertjes. 

 

 

Directions: First pour the milk or water and then the poffertjes mix into a bowl and mix until smooth. Mix in the eggs, oil and the syrup. When the Poffertjes Pan is medium hot, grease it and pour the batter with a squeeze bottle in the small 'dents'. Bake the poffertjes on the bottom side until it is golden brown, Flip the poffertjes with a fork or a toothpick when the batter is still a little wet on the top and bake the other side golden brown. Serve with butter and icing sugar. (makes approx 150 poffertjes) Tips and Variations: To make filled poffertjes pour a little batter in the 'dents', with a teaspoon add a little filling and cover with a little more batter. Sweet fillings: jam, raisins, shredded apple, almond paste or pineapple. Savory: shredded herb cheese, spiced cheese or old cheese, pieces of bacon, or pieces of salami.

 

 

Serving Suggestions: Serve as hot lunch, as a snack with hot chocolate and whipping cream, as dessert with or without your liquor and ice cream.
